LEAP FOR SOLICITORS

DO WE NEED LEAP?

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) regulates solicitors in England and demands responsibility for compliance of them. It also requires of them to have all their actions, accountancy and dealings documented and monitored via the LEAP.

WHAT IS LEAP?

LEAP is the Case Management and Accounting Software for Law Firms. It is a completely integrated solution. Productivity tools include automated document production, time recording, billing and legal and client accounting which are now available from any device.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

OK, the story is very simple

You need LEAP to run your solicitors practice. And all of you are OK apart from few of the partners that are running the OSX systems ie. Apple computers.

Don’t despair! It is possible, obviously depending on what are the specs of the machines your colleagues have.

But as long as it has more than 8GBs memory and a decent processor we can make it run for you. We have customers running it on 4GB however it is not our recommendation.

HOW IS IT DONE?

Since the local version (by local version I mean that the software is installed on your machine) can only be run on Windows operating systems you need to install Windows to your Apple mac or use some form of Virtual Machine on your Mac.

This is where we come in.

In order to install Microsoft Windows to your mac, you need to have either:

  • dual boot installed on your mac
  • software called Parallels
  • a Virtual Machine called Wine, no you don’t drink it.

For many reasons that we don’t need to bother you and for the ease of functioning with Apple computers, we strongly suggest the installation of the Parallels and Windows on the top of it.

Once that is done you can freely install the LEAP software from https://www.leap.co.uk/.
